Growing up around my Danish craftsman father (5th generation), I heard stories about the Vikings and their incredible shipbuilding skills. I am inspired by the culture and strengths of the Vikings, as well as my father's cabinetry I grew up around.
In this work I explore Scandinavian craft techniques and materials through Norse mythology and the new history that is being defined through active present day archeological finds.
I hope to embody the Norsemen/women's pioneering strength, fine skilled-work and spirit in these pieces for the wearer to feel its empowerment.
